About Angela…

1750 - French Court Gown (5)My name is Angela Thornhill and I love to dress up. Aside from the joy I experience being with my family, there is no greater pastime for me than costuming. If I were one who did not appreciate the necessity of social conformity, I’d wear my costumes everyday – out in public – to the embarrassment of those closest to me – lol. However, I realize that there are social stigmas associated with dressing like a pirate wench or medieval nobility in public, except for Halloween, maybe…

The point is, costuming is my love – it’s more than a hobby, it’s my passion made all the more enjoyable by the involvement of my dear sister and devilish side-kick, Tonia. Together, we set out to conquer the costuming cyber-world, contributing our talents, ideas, historical knowledge, and off-color humor so that countless individuals across the corporate and homemaking macrocosm can waste precious production time reading our blog. We look forward to your comments, suggestions, and ideas – as well as consuming your down-time!

Many Blessings & Enjoy!

  2. Dear Angela and Tonia, I found your blog by chance of the Truly Victorian website links. I think you both are incredibly talented and will visit your site again to “pop” by from Down Under… if that is ok?? I too share your passion for fashions of past, however I am just a beginner and use the patterns and change some of the elements so I can wear them everyday. I have been studying pattern shapes for a while and realise that most blocks really never change over the span of time. I don’t have to worry about people staring at me because they do anyway – I wear braces on my legs so since I have acquired my disability six years ago, I have found a really good excuse to wear the clothes I love and get to cover my legs all at the same time!!
I look forward to seeing what else you will be creating this year, 2012.
    Kind Regards
