We were definitely in high spirits this past Saturday evening. We had a great time at the EP 1st Annual Costume Ball. And, we were in high spirits in more than one way. We had such yummy wines and foods. We had our favorite white merlot, some moscato, white zinfandel and a few others that were delicious, but I can’t remember. We had platters of meats, cheeses, fruits and veggies. Let me just say that my dear sister’s German raspberry/currant compote was to die for, especially with some roast beef and brie! YUM!
The second part of our high spirits were from being able to play dress up! Oh, how we love to play dress up. It was so interesting to see everyones’ dresses all in the same room. The color combinations were so rich, as you can see in the ladies group photo. We partied until well after dark.
Speaking of after dark…. This is the same place that we used for my wedding and cocktail reception. We had such lovely time, and it was fairly inexpensive, so we decided to use it again for the ball, and other future events. That is, until after dark. We had several spooky things happen in the lower level (where the restrooms were). There was a bit of knocking, some other spooky sounds, and just as we were changing to go home, a blood curdling scream that was only heard in the ladies room. Needless to say, we will be finding other locations to host our events, which is very sad, as this was such a lovely venue.
We have also made the decision on what next years’ costume ball theme will be. So…… (drum roll, please)…. The 2nd Annual Emerald Parlor Costume Ball will be………. the Antebellum/Civil War Era! So, grab your hoops skirts, ladies, and meet me at Tara for a bar-b-q!
Please watch for up coming pattern reviews for some of the patterns used for this event.
