The patterns from Truly Victorian range from the 1830′s to the 1890′s. Truly Victorian offers patterns that are hand drafted to fit the modern body. These patterns use historical techniques, principles, seam lines and styles. The patterns are designed to produce historical garments, rather than modern costume concepts. Each pattern offers the desired, basic shape that allows each person to trim as desired, creating a one of a kind garment each time. Full instructions are given, with a few illustrations. Basic sewing skills are needed to be able to use these patterns. These patterns are offered by many vendors, and can be found at Truly Victorian.
Tonia’s review: I have wanted to purchase some of these patterns for a couple of years, and I finally got my chance. I really like that the patterns are printed on white bond paper. The pattern pages are very easy to fold back in place (a very large plus in my book), and they are packed in to zip lock style bags to help protect them from moisture, which is a good thing when you have a cat that loves to tip cups. The pattern comes in a wide variety of sizes, and each size is clearly marked. The sewing instructions are simple, to the point, extremely easy to follow, and are formatted step by step (just don’t think to save time and skip ahead, I learned my lesson on that one, lol). I will be purchasing more patterns for future use.
