TV170 offers 4 styles of Victorian petticoats, allowing the pattern to be used across virtually all the fashion changes during the Victorian Era. I used View 2, the Natural Form version. This pattern was spot on. The instructions were easy to follow, and the garment went together like a breeze. There were no sizing issues. I was able to construct this garment in a days time. I enjoyed making the garment, especially the half inch pintucks on the lower back panels. The only thing I had an issue with was the ruffle at the bottom, but that is a personal issue, as I prefer to pleat rather than gather.

This is a very easy petticoat pattern to construct and you have four different styles to choose from – that’s a good bang for your buck. I constructed View 3 (1883-1889 Late Bustle petticoat). I did not construct the gathering waistband given in the pattern, but rather constructed a traditional waistband (I wanted a smooth and flat look so my waistline does not look bunchy).
